Our company is committed to ensuring that we are continually identifying each hazard by updating JSA’s, continually checking permits and always double checking One Calls. Every employee who enters a Sage Energy Services project will have PEC SafeLand Basic Orientation and documented training/OQ’s for the specific tasks required to be conducted.
All operators hired with Sage Energy Services are experienced and capable of doing the work required for each project. Sage Energy Services conducts evaluations for each person on each piece of equipment. A written exam is administered and followed up with a hands on skill evaluation. All documents are available upon request.
Below you will find some of the items Sage Energy Services focuses on when working on pipeline projects.
Rigging – Each employee assigned to rig material for any lift is trained and carded to do so. All equipment is inspected prior to each lift and a daily inspection is documented on the JSA.
Excavations – All pipeline field superintendents are trained and authorized as a competent person. All excavations require the completion of an excavations permit and a checklist is used to ensure no step is missed.
Line Locating – All employee who are tasked to locate lines have documented training. One calls are kept onsite and copies can be requested at any time.
Permitting – Each crew truck is equipped with an air monitor and qualified personnel trained to use it. Sage Energy Services has documentation of each permit onsite prior to work being conducted. Supervisors are well versed in all aspects of the permitting process and oversea each permit administered.
Job Safety Analysis – Every employee is well versed in the JSA process and at Sage Energy Services it is a fundamental part of our company. We believe a well-executed JSA is the first step to avoiding injury and eliminating inefficiencies. JSA’s can be found on site every day for each specific task. Employees are trained to approach new members to the group with the JSA and explain what is going on and how to avoid hazards before they enter the construction zone.
Operator training – Operator evaluations are conducted for each operator working on Sage Energy Services projects. All training and evaluation is documented and available upon request.
DOT Compliance
SES Construction is equipped to handle any DOT regulated work and have complete documentation for each employee proving these compliances. Our employees adhere to a DOT compliant drug and alcohol testing program and complete pre-employment drug screens before entering any worksites.
SES can also meet any third party OQ requirements mandated. (Veriforce, NCCER, Etc.) We also have an in house OQ program that meets the standards set by the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration. (PHMSA)
